Yoshies
On a tiny little tropical island very close to the
Mushroom Kingdom live the Yoshies: A race of fun-loving miniature dinosaurs
whose name derives from the only word they can say.
Yoshies come in just
about every color of the rainbow and they love to play and make friends. They
are often given the task of watching after Li'l Mario and they do a better job
of it than you'd expect from a family of 3-foot-tall lizards.
Another
favorite past-time for the Yoshies is... eating. They have a voracious appetite
and they can gobble down just about anything, though they prefer lots and lots
of fruit.
Their elder, King Yoshi, was the first Yoshi to ever meet Mario
and his friends and share an adventure with them. He is also the only Yoshi who
can say more than
"Yoshi!"
